When many choose to pursue the acquisition of a new language, there is often a concern of utility. Many English speakers assume that Spanish, Mandarin, or even Arabic is the most practical language to learn. The reality of the situation is that many of the most spoken languages are equally as utilitarian to learn depending on your situation, specialization, location, travel-goals, career, and hobbies.
The following five maps are presented to demonstrate how the French language is truly a global language. The Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie even outwardly prides itself in being a worthy opponent to the anglophone hegemon.
French is a dominant language in Europe, a growing and expanding language in Africa, and is commonly spoken in stable communities in the Caribbean, North Ameria, South America, and the Pacific and Indian Ocean.
